Olivia Grant

I always delight when I find new-to-me actresses whose looks strike me as particularly Pre-Raphaelite. I just recently finished watching series 1 of the BBC show Lark Rise to Candleford (an excellent series), and the actress Olivia Grant ensorcelled me with her luminous pale skin and enormous pale eyes. If she was truly from the Victorian era, I think she would have been a stunner for certain.

Particularly, she looks like she could have been the model for this artwork, Hope by Burne-Jones (thanks Jen for the ID!)

Closing on our first house continues, packing is fast and furious. Apologies for the quiet around this blog, but there's good reason!

Perfect for the part, wonderful books!

She was just right for the part, Unfortunately unlike say Cranford, Larkrise gets more and more far fetched in the later series.

Von, I haven't read the books...have to add those to my reading list!

Hermes, what a pity! I plan to continue with the series, but I'm forewarned. :/

About actressees looking pre-raphaelite, don't you think Kate Winslet has it in her?
Especially if you've seen all the corset movies she's done, like Hamlet, Jude the Obscure or Quills. i love her!
I also think she looks like the Ophelia of your banner!!

Oh goodness yes. I definitely think Titanic-era Kate with her long red curls and dreamy expression would be a muse for the Brotherhood :)

Judith Paris is an uncanny lookalike for Lizzie Siddal, definitely.

Olivia Grant is a dead ringer for the Pre-Raphaelite era. Another good example of close physical types is Izza Teller in Ken Russell's Dante's Inferno from 1966. She is Rossetti's wife and she looks like she stepped out of a Rossetti painting. It's a disturbing film about the use of drugs by Rossetti and his friends but it has many qualities.
