Tree of Life Bedding

Yesterday, the newest Pyramid Collection catalogue arrived. I have to admit, for the most part I don't get thrilled about their items. They are lovely, but overpriced in my opinion. But we did purchase our wonderful Mucha tapestries from them, and their new catalogue featured another item that turned my head. A beautiful bedding set inspired by William Morris' Tree of Life (ironically it's not identified as such, but it's pretty glaringly obvious)


Actually if you look closely at the design, it looks more inspired by Flora, but there are definitely William Morris patterns in the design.

PS: Still no signs of this week's Desperate Romantics on YouTube! Probably for the best...I hear William Morris is an "Oaf" in it. :(

    My love affair with the Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood of artists started years ago when I discovered a simple postcard of Dante Gabriel Rossetti's "Reverie."     Yep, as suspected, William Morris was transformed into an oafish charicature much in keeping with everything else in this series. Jane Morris was also a bit of a disappointment for some reason whilst Ned Burne Jones just seems utterly unmemorable, but I have to confess to thoroughly enjoying the series none the less.

    Taken in the spirit so obviously intended, it's a rollicking romp with some wonderful comedic touches. Rossetti's initial shenanigans with the superbly voluptuous Fanny Cornforth had me hooting with laughter, but I'd better not say anymore else I spoil it for you!

    Hi Grace! I love the nickname of the piece...have you ever had a featherbed? We use one in the winter and it's a velvet fog to be sure...or maybe a large marshmallow!     but I don't know if it will work in the US.
    It's good spirited and Gabriel would have loved it! Morris and Ned don't get too much of a mention but to be honest it leaves it open to a second series. There is a lot of poetic licence taken but actually many of the core facts are pretty accurate and quite well told. And you'll LOVE Aiden Turner...

    Hey there Anonymous. The BBC player actually doesn't work in the US. But I've managed to track down every episode so far to watch it. Honestly, I've found tons and tons of parts of the story to be historically inaccurate, and I hated how Ned and Topsy were portrayed, but I'm still enjoying it!! I hope to write a review of the whole thing after the series is completed (Is this week the last episode??).
