Art Quilts of Diane Herbort

One of the most wonderful things about doing research for The Beautiful Necessity is the random discoveries one can make on Google and Flickr and so on by typing in new combinations of Pre-Raphaelite subject words for investigation.

While doing research for my post on Pre-Raphaelites and fairy tales, I stumbled upon the website of Diane Herbort, who creates lovely art quilts. She has an entire page of quilts inspired by the Pre-Raphaelite woman, and they are all just beautiful. I love how she combines the images with organic elements.

  1. Wow...these quilts are exquisite, Grace! YOU are lucky to be able to hunt these kinds of things down! OH PLEASE! I can't wait to see the posts on your apartment! I would love to see how you have incorporated murals into your home. Isn't Ullabenulla just a drop dead gorgeous place to visit? She is also the sweetest person. I must visit Diane Herbort as well...I'm sure she will knock my socks off! Thanks for all the information as well! I am going surfing on the web on break! Have a great day Grace! Anita
