Waterhouse Exhibit Video

This is a wonderful video about a Waterhouse exhibit that will be touring around for the next year or so. (sadly the closest it will get to me is Quebec, and I priced tickets already...too much)

Please click to view...there are some wonderful details in this video.

ETA: A full list of venues is here on one of my two favorite Waterhouse websites.

  3. I was going to ask the same question as Meredith. Thank you for providing the link. Ah, I am determined to go when it comes to Quebec...I have no idea how...but somehow...

  4. I would SO love to, Trisha, but I suppose I should save up for a trip to England itself. :D

  5. The Waterhouse exhibit will be in Montreal, not Quebec City, and it takes you 5 hours drive from Boston to Montreal. You could go via Vermont or Albany, the same distance. Well, winter on the moutain road is not easy.
    Waterhouse, one of my favarite.

  6. Sadly, Anonymous, I live in central Ohio, so it'd take me quite a while longer to get there by driving :(

  7. I just stumbled upon some fantastic links and wanted to share them with you (I can't seem to find a link to email you anywhere :P ). Check out the art of http://www.howarddavidjohnson.com/. He's got some AMAZING stuff, including a section of Pre-Raphaelite Inspired art. It's really fantastic and I am going wild over a couple of his fairy paintings! :)

  8. I'm so sad that these things never come anywhere near me.

ps. Unfortunately many of HDJ's works have lots of images and backgrounds lifted directly from paintings by Waterhouse, Frederick Leighton, and Hudson River School artists and collaged with digital art/photos :( It's a little disconcerting to see a famous painting with someone else's head on it.

  9. Meredith - Oh! I didn't realize that! What a shame! He's got so much talent that there's not reason he couldn't reproduce it himself! :(
