My fiance and I are getting married this October 3rd. And one of the things I've been pondering lately is how wonderful it would be if some of our wedding portraits were posed to look the same as a few classic Pre-Raphaelite artworks. So, dear readers, I ask you for your suggestions. I am looking for any beautifully posed Pre-Raphaelite artworks that show a man and a woman (doesn't have to be a bride and groom).
Go forth, my minions! :)
I don't know if this qualifies. But one of my favorite paintings has always been The Kiss by Hayez. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Kiss_(Hayez_painting)
ReplyDeleteOh that definitely qualifies! I love that one too, and hadn't thought of it :)

Are you having a Pre-Raphaelite themed wedding? I don't have any immediate picture ideas, but I thought you might get inspiration from my best friend's medieval/renaissance/fantasy wedding photos.
ReplyDeleteYou can see them here: http.//grandadventure2.blogspot.com
and also some on my own blog...
Good luck! :)
Oops. Goofed the link!

Our wedding will definitely have its touches of Pre-Raphaelite, since it's such a huge passion for me :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link! Your friends wedding looks lovely :)
congratulations! I am browsing through some paintings to serve your purpose...

I like the one below so much but the site offering it as a screensaver does not list the painter and the title, what a pity.

Came across this one the other day and thought of you. Very sweet. :)

Wow...thank you so much for these suggestions! I really love the Illusions Gallery one, Amanda, and the last one you suggested, Eskarina!
ReplyDeletethe last one I suggested (actually I think the other links don't work) is Hesperus by Joseph Noel Paton , Scottish Pre-Raphaelite. whichever you choose for your wedding picture, I'm sure you and your sweetheart will look very romantic (batting eyelashes) and very original.
ReplyDelete:) Thank you!
