There aren't many great books out there on the PRB, but the ones that are around are really quite good! :)Gracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01961174973796318673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3857988142747792755.post-83113631646963119892009-08-25T09:00:45.787-04:002009-08-25T09:00:45.787-04:00Hey there Anonymous. Honestly, I've found tons and tons of parts of the story to be historically inaccurate, and I hated how Ned and Topsy were portrayed, but I'm still enjoying it!! I hope to write a review of the whole thing after the series is completed (Is this week the last episode??).Gracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01961174973796318673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3857988142747792755.post-62476343666932838642009-08-25T08:29:37.804-04:002009-08-25T08:29:37.804-04:00still not printing all of it, where it say Desper ...still not printing all of it, where it say Desper it should be
Desperate_Romantics_Episode_1/

Good luckAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3857988142747792755.post-16461207275611958722009-08-25T08:28:10.089-04:002009-08-25T08:28:10.089-04:00http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00lvyr1/Desp...http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00lvyr1/Desperate_Romantics_Episode_1/

sorry that previous url was incompleteAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3857988142747792755.post-49222692244610534792009-08-25T08:27:01.880-04:002009-08-25T08:27:01.880-04:00Hi Grace you may be able to watch it on bbc iplaye...Hi Grace you may be able to watch it on bbc iplayer http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00lvyr1/Desperate_Romantics_Episode_1/
but I don't know if it will work in the US.
It's good spirited and Gabriel would have loved it! Morris and Ned don't get too much of a mention but to be honest it leaves it open to a second series. There is a lot of poetic licence taken but actually many of the core facts are pretty accurate and quite well told. We use one in the winter and it's a velvet fog to be sure...or maybe a large marshmallow! Sweet dreams dear one and have a great weekend. See you at the theatre for more of M. Balzac and his silliness? Excellent! :) AnitaCastles Crowns and Cottageshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01780241008313365707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3857988142747792755.post-44339315628302779692009-08-22T05:50:27.933-04:002009-08-22T05:50:27.933-04:00Yep, as suspected, William Morris was transformed ...Yep, as suspected, William Morris was transformed into an oafish charicature much in keeping with everything else in this series. Jane Morris was also a bit of a disappointment for some reason whilst Ned Burne Jones just seems utterly unmemorable, but I have to confess to thoroughly enjoying the series none the less.

Taken in the spirit so obviously intended, it's a rollicking romp with some wonderful comedic touches. Rossetti's initial shenanigans with the superbly voluptuous Fanny Cornforth had me hooting with laughter, but I'd better not say anymore else I spoil it for you!Katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01583541982504301756noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3857988142747792755.post-34516023345345465732009-08-22T05:47:12.635-04:002009-08-22T05:47:12.635-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01583541982504301756noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3857988142747792755.post-622696268112676552009-08-22T02:03:47.855-04:002009-08-22T02:03:47.855-04:00That is so lovely. (:

My love affair with the Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood of artists started years ago when I discovered a simple postcard of Dante Gabriel Rossetti's "Reverie." Its grown to include a ton of books about the brotherhood. My favorite one being "Pre-Raphaelites at Home" by Pamela Todd. Love your blog!
